Introducing 303 Royal Parade
The University’s commitment to student accommodation, as detailed in the Growing Esteem 2015 – 2020 Strategy, is framed by the Melbourne Student Accommodation Program (MSAP), which seeks to provide 6000 safe, affordable and quality student accommodation places within walking-distance of the Parkville campus by 2020.
The new student accommodation facility at 303 Royal Parade will provide 285 beds to help achieve this target through an extensive internal refurbishment, rear extension and facade rejuvenation. This architecturally designed facility will provide quality single, twin and studio rooms for undergraduate and post graduate students, and spacious indoor and outdoor communal areas. The site is ideally located in close proximity to the Parkville campus, Melbourne CBD and Princes Park and is supported by excellent public transport amenities.
Community Meetings 2017
Community Meetings were held on 31 October, to give local residents and neighbours and opportunity to hear more about the Student Accommodation Program and the plans for 303 Royal Parade.
The refurbishment of the existing 10-level structure and an additional 6-levels to the rear, will create 285 beds for University of Melbourne students. The project finished demolition phase in November and will begin the main works shortly, which will be completed by the beginning of 2019.
During the meetings, residents were able to voice any concerns they had. These concerns have been outlined in the FAQs section of this website (on the right-hand side). If you would like ongoing communications and updates about the project, please sign up for our newsletter (on the right-hand side).
