March Update

21 March 2017

Stage 1 of the Western Edge Biosciences (WEBS) program is commencing preparatory works on 24 and 25 March 2017 on the western and northern side of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences building along Tin Alley and Royal Parade.

This stage is the first step towards creating a world-class precinct for biosciences teaching, research, and training at the University of Melbourne and will involve some tree removals.

These tree removals are unrelated to the Melbourne Metro Rail works on Grattan Street.

All appropriate approvals and requirements have been confirmed by the contractor and the University project team managing the WEBS program.

Surrounding buildings may be impacted by noise and access issues on Saturday and Sunday though every effort will be made to minimise disruption to surrounding buildings and residents.

The specialist contractor has extensive experience performing tree removal activities in high-traffic areas, and will manage pedestrian access throughout the weekend as necessary.
